EFT is based on the same theory as acupuncture. Our body has a pathway of energy channels called meridian lines which carry energy through our system. Tapping on the end of these meridians reduces the fight or flight response and calms down the amygdala, which is responsible for our feelings of anxiety. The client is encouraged to FEEL their emotions about a specific situation and by stimulating the tapping points, negative emotions are released. EFT literally rewires your body and nervous system so that true healing can occur physically, emotionally and psychologically. It’s like having a magic wand at your finger tips!


Where’s the evidence?


EFT is scientific and evidence-based and has been validated in clinical trials. It has been researched in more than 10 countries, by more than 60 investigators, whose results have been published in more than 100 different journal articles. EFT has been proven to lower levels of cortisol, which is our main stress hormone; it boosts levels of immunoglobulin, which is our body’s natural virus killer; it produces significant drops in anxiety, depression, stress and pain. In fact when researchers first began to collect scientific data on the effects of EFT, they were so astonished by the results that they assumed the results were faulty and replicated the research only to conclude their original findings were indeed correct!
